Paid Lunch Equity Tool

The PLE Tool allows Sponsors to calculate their paid lunch price increase and/or non-Federal contributions to meet the requirements in Section 205 of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 for the upcoming school year. If the pricing requirements calculated by the PLE Tool or are not meant or are exceeded, the tool will also calculate any amounts, including credits or deficits carried over into the next year.

Please Note: The weighted average prices calculated in the PLE Tool are the weighted average of all student paid lunch prices charged to the Sponsor.

Prior to using the tool please review the following tips:

If available, have last year’s data on-hand for reference.

Only the tab(s) relevant to the Sponsor’s selection of method to meet PLE requirements need to be completed.

The $0.10 cap does not mean that every Sponsor will raise the weighted average paid lunch price or contribute the equivalent in non-Federal funds. Depending on where the Sponsor is relative to meeting the PLE requirement, a contribution of less than $0.10 may be required or the Sponsor may choose to contribute more than $0.10.

Please Note: PLE forms can only be created or modified if the current date falls between the Open and Closed dates.
